FCCMA 2017 Leesburg Onsite Training Session

  • Dates: 06 – 06 Apr, 2017
  • Time: 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM

“Local Governments are One Incident Away From

Being the Focus on International Attention: A Review of the Response in the Orlando Pulse Nightclub Tragedy”

Technology (notably social media) has changed the how, when, and where local government news is reported, and has changed what local governments must do to prepare, react, and respond when a notable incident occurs in their area. It’s not a question of if an incident will occur, but when, how often, and whether local officials will be prepared to respond.

There may be no other training session offered by FCCMA that universally applies to local government managers than this session. Orlando city officials will walk attendees through their experiences with the Pulse Nightclub tragedy and summarize lessons learned. This will be an excellent opportunity for attendees to learn from Orlando's experience and to ask questions and discuss the applicability of those lessons to their own jurisdictions.
