• Live Local Act (SB 102) Bill Summary 

The Live Local Act, SB 102, was signed by the Governor and becomes law effective July 1, 2023 (Ch. 2023-17, Laws of Florida). Section 5 of SB 102 imposes both incentives and mandates relating to local government regulation of the use, height, and density of qualifying affordable housing projects. Many municipal attorneys, planners, and elected officials have a variety of questions about the implementation of the provisions of Section 5 of SB 102. Residential Building Permits (HB 267) Process & Timeline

The Florida Commission on Ethics created the following new training information for Form 6 Financial Disclosure Filers:

Elected municipal officials will need to file Form 6 beginning in 2024 with the Florida Commission on Ethics. The Florida League of Cities held a webinar on June 20 related to the new law and Form 6, and that webinar can be accessed by clicking here. Note that elected municipal officials in office now will still file Form 1 for this year and then file Form 6 next year instead of Form 1.
