CITYSTATS MUNICIPAL INFORMATION

Florida League of Cities

The Florida League of Cities' Center for Municipal Research connects you with the latest local government data and statistics.

For more than a decade, the center has been bridging the gap between academics and public policy makers and administrators through a number of programs and publications. The cornerstone of the center's research is the annual CityStats survey. Used to assist in legislative advocacy efforts as well as in collaborations with university and research institute partners, the data collected through CityStats helps provide a more accurate picture of the challenges and opportunities facing municipalities statewide.

CityStats

Begun in 2011, the CityStats survey is a vital source of information on Florida's municipal governments. The survey consists of approximately 35-40 questions about municipal operations, budgets, policies and services. Surveys are sent to all of Florida's municipalities with an average response rate of more than 75% of all cities, equivalent to more than three-quarters of the total statewide municipal population.

Through the center, Florida's city officials have access to municipal resources and data needed to effectively lead their local governments and Florida's municipal government research institutes have opportunities to collaborate with municipal government practitioners across the state. Download Data Sharing Policy
